- During 1945 we distributed books at 148 locations throughout Bangor: school rooms, hospitals, residential institutions, other libraries, and our own central library and two branches. In our information department, work, as measured by questions requiring research, increased 15% over the year before. Reserves of books for home use increased 12%. The gain here was principally in the months since the end of the war. These are straws which may indicate that as Bangor's soldiers and sailors continue to return and now that there is gasoline in every auto, the use of the library is likely to rise rapidly to the level of the pre-war years.
