Description

The 1909 Directories of Bangor and Brewer, published by Cannon & Co., are now in the bindery and it is expected that they will be ready for distribution on Tuesday or Wednesday. Advance copies show there has been no attempt at padding out to increase size of book but every line is full of fact and figures. The printing was done at the Commercial job printing rooms and the binding by the Maine State Bookbinding. Co., of Augustą. In addition to the many pages of miscellaneous information which is presented in the pages preceding the resident directory we find visiting days and hours at public institutions, depth of public artesian wells and cost, distances from Bangor to principal points in the state, and four pages of election statistics, consisting of Bangor's vote by wards for mayor in 1907-8-9; for aldermen and councilmen in 1909, and for congressman, state and county officials in 1908, and vote of Penobseot county for state and county officials 1908, all important information and heretofore available for reference in no other publication.
