- Preface. Two years have elapsed since the last DIRECTORY OF BANGOR AND BREWER was published, and the many changes, both in business and residences, make a new edition very much needed. We have endeavored to present a trustworthy record of the inhabitants, business firms, public officers, institutions, and the societies of these places, and we trust we have succeeded in so doing, to the satisfaction of our patrons and the public generally.
