- Preface. More than two years have elapsed since the last DIRECTORY OF BANGOR was published, and the many changes in business and residence of the citizens makes a new edition very much needed; in fact the recent renumbering of the buildings on many principal streets, renders the edition of 1873-4 of very little use at the present time. We have endeavored to present a trustworthy record of the inhabitants, business firms, public officers, institutions and societies of Bangor and Brewer, and we trust we have succeeded in so doing, to the satisfaction of our patrons and the public generally.
