- From an official commendation [abbreviated]: The 1st Aircraft Repair Unit (Floating), commanded by Colonel Kingsley, serviced this Wing [313th Bombardment Wing] during the period from 2 February 1945 to 21 July 1945. This Unit aided in third echelon of aircraft maintenance as well as fourth echelon of maintenance. The services of this Unit were especially valuable during the initial stages of operation at which time the Wing Service Centers did not have all shop facilities on hand or installed. --J.H.
