- A 79-year-old Camden man, Everett Crandall, was airlifted from the top of Mount Beattie by a helicopter from Dow Air Force Base, Tuesday afternoon almost 2r hours after he began a climb that took him within 400 yards of the peak (includes photograph). -- First CAP Group in the State of Maine to make a helicopter flight as they prepare to board the aircraft. Members shown here are (left to right) Richard Dore, Don Quinones, Peter Cookson, Roland Keezer, Daniel Smith and Wayne Howard. Explaining the crash helmet to the cadets is 1st. Lt. George H. Collins, helicopter pilot at Dow (photograph). -- Base personnel are provided extensive information about applying for housing at the new Capehart neighborhood.
