- Gerald Decker Strout. Pharmacist's Mate Third Class, U.S. Navy. U.S. Naval Hospital, Admiralty Islands, New Guinea. 26 January 1917 - 15 January 1945. From his hospital station he went out on the minelayer Ozark for the invasion of Luzon and was killed in an accidental collision of airplanes while returning, presumably with wounded. "Skip's" favorite sport was basketball. Graduated, Bangor High School, 1936. Was with a real estate firm at his enlistment. 8233002
