- Horace Nathan Comstock. 2nd Lieutenant U.S. Army Air Forces. 24 August 1921 - 24 February 1944. Pilot of a fighter plane, he died in combat in the air over Italy. Born in Clarksville, N.H. Graduated from St. Johnsbury Vermont Academy, 1939. Moved to Bangor, 1940. In the feed business in civil life, he enjoyed as recreations swimming, skating and skiing.
