- Harold G. Eaton. Captain, Merchant Marine (Naval Reserve), Commanding S.S. Raphael Semmes. 15 April 1884 - 28 June 1942. He went down with his ship, torpedoed at 20 30' N-60 30' W, while returning from delivering munitions to Russia. At sea from the age of sixteen, he commanded the U.S. Transport Buford in World War I and the steamship Raphael Semmes, War Shipping Board, in World War II. Mariners Medal.
