Served continuously on ships Lunson, Herbert Yarnall and Langley until Langley was sunk off Tjilijap, Java, 27 February 1942. Rescued by Tanker Pecos. Killed in action with her. Coached Navy baseball teams to Pacific Coast and Fleet championships. American, Asiatic, Philippine Defense medals, Purple Heart. 2102874
